Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in WANT.

The bible clearly states WANT, and not NEED. We will always be in need, in need of our God. We will not want anything else, because all we need is Him.

How many times have we read Psalms 23 and not realised what it means to us?

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
He gives us rest, and restores our soul when we are weary.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
When we walk upright in His path for His glory, He will not leave us to stray, but give us guidance on the right path.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
We may walk through life and feel like death is upon us, but we do not need to fear, because the almighty God we serve is with us and brings us comfort.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Even when enemies are before us, God will still bless us, till the point where we cannot take in anymore.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
God's goodness and God's love will always be with us in our earthly life, and we will spend eternity with God forever.

He does all of the things listed in Psalms 23, but how often have we WANTED more? What we need He has provided, yet we want more. How often have we neglected what we needed, but yearned for what we wanted?

A shepherd takes care of his sheep like his life depends on it. And our God is the best shepherd we can ever find, for He exemplified His love for us on the cross.

Too often we ignore what is really necessary and go for extra things that God has blessed us with. We place our faith in the wrong things! Our faith should be in the creator and not the created.

I don't know how much sense I am making to you, or how much what I am saying is touching your heart, but I do sincerely believe that God gave me this word for a purpose, and I really hope that in doing this I fulfill that divine purpose. (: God loves you, very much.
